banyan master bath; which option do you like?

here are two options for the banyan master bath project that we are currently considering. these are “rough” 3d computer renderings and they are hot off the press. the difference between the two is the tall piece of cabinetry located to the left of the sink. in option #1 it is floating, and option #2 it goes to the floor.

i’d like to hear from you, which one do you like and why? click the “comments” button above to cast your vote!

Hi David!
Looking at the pictures, I would go with option 2. It looks more “weighted” if that makes sense. Also, would the part to the floor be more space? You always need space for stuff in the bathroom.
Good luck! Both look great!

My son says Option 1. He says the bottom looks too random on the Option 2.

Hi David,
Aesthetically my vote is for Option 1 because it reads more as part of the cabinetry and is more asymmetric. Option 2 seems too much like a mirror of the wall on the right side, but not enough to be the same and therefore slightly off in my opinion.

Looks lovely though!

Nice designs. I prefer option 1, it has more continuity and feels more airy. Of course, more storage is always helpful, but if the cabinet is designed well on the inside, it should be adequate.

hey there,

my vote is for option #1 because i like the idea of more storage space but realistically it isn’t that large of a space that you would lose. i like the flow and look of #1, and it actually reminded me of bob & carrie’s master bathroom in joshua tree. the 3d renderings are incredible, by the way. i imagine that clients really dig being able to see what the space may truly look like in these beginning stages. look forward to building our dream house with you someday . . .

thanks everyone for your replies. it looks like we’re going to be going with option #1 but tweaking it a bit. i can’t wait to show you guys the completed rendering, hopefully in a couple of weeks.

thanks again for commenting on the blog, i really enjoy hearing from the community!
