LEED for Homes Program
the LEED for Homes program, LEED (leadership in energy and environmental design), is a national program and administered by the united states green building council (usgbc). This is the most comprehensive green building program in the country. only new construction or “gut rehabs”/major remodels can qualify for the leed for homes program. we like to refer to this program as a “darker shade of green” because it is so comprehensive and involved.

Build It Green
GreenPoint Rated is a program administered by Build It Green, a California non-profit located in the Bay Area dedicated to green building and education. Similar in spirit to the LEED for Homes program, we like to refer to GreenPoint Rated as a “lighter shade of green” because it can be easier to apply to projects seeking a “green rating.”
